Hot Shots Curling Camp - Rock Delivery Basics

How to Spare in a Match - by Steve

The PCC has several different types of memberships, one of which is Permanent Spare.
A Permanent Spare is a fully paid club member who cannot commit to weekly league play.

These club members are not assigned to a team but may request to play - filling in for a team who is short a player.
They may request a particular date and draw time that meets their availability.

Permanent spares have the advantage of playing on lots of different teams and meeting lots of different people.
They have the disadvantage of potentially not having a spot available to them on a given week and time.

Regular league members may also spare although priority is always given to Permanent Spares.
Regular league memberes are encouraged to email scheduling in advance if they'd like to spare.
The advantage for league members is MORE ICE TIME and of course playing on different teams.

All spares must play lead (or second if 2 spares are needed for a particular team).
Please see the Policy below. Steve (scheduling) is in charge of organizing the spares weekly.
PLEASE LET HIM KNOW VIA EMAIL OR AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE AT ICE TIME IF YOU NEED A SPARE.

Rich's Ice Procedures

With so many people helping set up and take down the ice, Rich thought it would be a good idea
to have a comprehensive list of tasks that need to be completed to get our ice in good shape for curling.

Thanks Rich!
