Registration for curling in our new building is now open!

Welcome to the inaugural season in our new curling facility. We anticipate that our building will be ready for curling in February 2020. We’ll be holding two sessions in our inaugural season: Spring and Summer. The tentative date ranges for the sessions are  February through May 2020 for Spring and June through September 2020 for Summer. THESE DATES AND LEAGUE OFFERINGS MAY CHANGE DUE TO CONSTRUCTION DELAYS OVER WHICH WE HAVE NO CONTROL.

League Schedule

Leagues will fill based on registration date and time. First-come-first-serve so don’t delay joining.

When you register you’ll be asked to select the leagues in which you are interested and rank them in order of importance to you. Every effort will be made to honor your selections but demand may warrant changes to the leagues.

The Leagues

Some background and definitions:

  • We have four sheets of ice so four games can be played simultaneously.
  • Each set of four games is called a “draw” and lasts about 2 hours.
  • Teams have four players except for Doubles which have two players. Note that it’s “Doubles”, not “Mixed Doubles”. We are not enforcing female and male players for Doubles.
  • An “Open” league is any combination of male and female players of all ages.
  • You may sign up as a team of four (or five with an alternate,) a group of three or two, or as an individual for all leagues. We’ll make up teams as best we can from the individuals and groups who sign up.

Sunday Open League: Two draws up to 16 teams. Teams will alternate between the two draw times every week.

Open Doubles League: One draw up to 8 teams.

Men’s League: One draw up to 8 teams. Draw time will alternate with Women’s League every week.  Ages 18+ only.

Women’s League: One draw up to 8 teams. Draw time will alternate with Men’s League every week. Ages 18+ only.

Tuesday Open League – Early Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Tuesday Open League – Late Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Wednesday Open League – Early Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Wednesday Open League – Late Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Thursday Open League – Early Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Thursday Open League – Late Draw: One draw up to 8 teams.

Friday Open Ice: Two draws up to 64 players. This is not a league to sign up for. This is open ice for practice or drop-in curling. If necessary, separate sign-ups may be needed to avoid overcrowding. We’ll see how it goes.

Can-Am Open League: Two draws up to 16 teams. Teams will alternate between the two draw times every week.

What’s a Spare?

There are usually a few people in any given draw who can’t play for various reasons. When a team is short one or more players they need a spare. All league members of a session may volunteer to spare to get extra ice time.

Permanent Spare

If your schedule does not allow you to commit to a team on a regular basis, you may join as a Permanent Spare. Permanent Spares are people who join to spare all the time. They do not have a team so they get first dibs on spare spots that are available. Once the Permanent Spares are placed, others who volunteered to spare get placed on a first come first serve basis. Note that in any given draw there is no guarantee that spare spots will be available.
