Apr 5 – Rochester Friendly

You will NOT want to miss this one!

Sat April 5 we head out from RMUISC (or Cranberry area) on a big comfy coach bus for a one day Friendly event with the Rochester Curling Club.

This event is designed especially for NEW CURLERS who want to experience a real curling ice and an awesome club atmosphere!

We can take 32 curlers and some fans (it’s a 50 person bus). read more…

Workshop provides information to potential applicants on DCNR grants available for public recreation and conservation projects. All are welcome to attend!

Feb 16 Olympic Learn To Curl

Sunday, February 16th – Schenley Ice Rink in Schenley Park

1PM – 7PM in Schenley Park

We need help:

loading rocks onto a truck after curling on February 15th (sat night) and after curling on Sunday at Schenley
12-15 volunteers to help with instruction and off ice activities
‘The Curling Experience’ – Quick 30 minute classes to give folks a short introduction to the sport
Five sheets of outdoor curling ice!!

These Olympic sessions not only earn us MUCH NEEDED BUILDING FUNDS, they also introduce curling to Pittsburghers and potentially increase our membership in the coming years! PLEASE MAKE TIME IN YOUR SCHEDULES TO HELP OUT!!

Feb 11 Curling Demo – Consol!!

Curling Demo at Consol Energy Center

The PCC has been invited by the Penguins Organization to run a Learn to Curl Session for their corporate sponsors Tuesday Feb 11 5-8P at Consol Energy Center.

What’s needed:
Volunteers at RMUISC to load rocks and all equipment into a rental truck
Volunteers at Consol to set up the ice and run the Learn to Curl
Possible opportunities to present our plans for a future home in Adams Township (a table, or distribute pamphlets)
Volunteers to tear down the ice at Consol then at RMUISC to return the rocks and gear to the cage.

Yep – Curling at Consol!!! Volunteers get to curl at Consol and introduce curling to The Pens corporate sponsors!!!
