Monday Open Curing – 7:00 PM

“Case of the Mondays” Night league

Skill / atmosphere: Social / fun / beginner friendly
Game type: Traditional 8-end games
Register as: Individual, part team, full team
How teams are formed: Individual sign up. You may request a teammate or a team. Requests for teammates and full team entries will be completed through discussion with the drawmaster. In the event of insufficient enrollment, pick-up teams may be formed weekly.

Game type: Traditional 8-end games

Thursday

Thursday Night Late League – 7:30 PM

Skill / atmosphere: Semi-competitive / balanced / mentoring / developmental / social / fun
Game type: Traditional 8-end games

Friday

Friday Night Pick-Up and Pizza ( $15 per person per week ) – 7:00 PM

Friday Night Pick-Up and Pizza is a seperate offering from the regular leagues that the Pittsburgh curling club offers, allowing club members ( basic membership and above) the opportunity to come out and play on a non regular basis, paying $15 per person per draw.  The members are also allowed to bring guests ( non-members ), paying the $15 per person per draw.  Guests are limited to 3 draws per curling season ( typically October through September ).

Description: This is an every other week league.

Stones and Scones – Saturdays 9:00 AM

Skill / atmosphere: Social / fun
Game type: Traditional 8-end games
Register as: Individual, part team, full team
How are teams formed: Pick-up. Requests for teammates should be directed to the drawmaster. If enrollment is sufficient, fixed teams may be set up.
Description: The theme is Stones & Scones.  Each week, we will ask for volunteers to bring a breakfast type item or pastry for all to enjoy.

Sunday

Doubles – Sundays 2:00 PM

Game type: Traditional Doubles games ( maybe Triples)

How are teams formed: Pick-up. Requests for teammates and full team entries will be completed through discussion with the drawmaster. If enrollment is sufficient, fixed teams may be set up.
Description:  This is for curlers with 5 or fewer years of curling experience.

Notes:
Draw offerings, times and dates are subject to change.
Leagues may end up with an odd number of teams ( necessitating having bye weeks).
Leagues may also have more than 32 people ( 8 teams ) requiring the draw to be expanded into 2 different draw times.

Skill / Atmosphere Types:


Social / Fun
Designed for members at any level of play who are most interested in having fun. Fosters a fun and relaxed curling environment. Teaches game rules, etiquette & strategy.

Mentoring / Developmental
Improvement oriented play with a goal of mentoring newer curlers on the facets of the game or bringing up established curlers into positions such as vice and skip. Expect friendly camaraderie and entertaining games.

Semi-Competitive / Balanced
Builds on the basics with experienced skips and an effort to balance the teams. Designed to increase understanding of the mechanics and strategy of the game while creating a consistent curling experience. Not geared towards brand new curlers, though Curling 101 members are qualified and encouraged to join.

Competitive / Elite
Competitive-oriented teams playing against high level opponents in games of high level strategy and shot making. Designed to fine tune the highest level of the game. Curlers must have a year of experience.
